We met at Panera for a hot shot of caffeine, planned our strategy and set out to see what interesting things we could stir up in the dead of winter. Turns out there are a number of things winter doesn't extinguish....
The first thing I noticed is what nice patterns the bare trees make against a winter sky. 10:38 a.m.
Silhouettes also look nice against the snow (what precious little of it there is in Tulsa right now!)

The green leaves may be gone from the mimosa tree, but it is now clothed with glorious gold pods. Winter CAN be beautiful!

A pond in a nearby neighborhood produced some interesting subject matter. It wasn't entirely frozen, and apparently a duck lives there. I loved the white feathers against the backdrop of the wintry, icy water, and he seemed happy to have some company. 11:14 a.m.
All alone, he entered the water and claimed the pond for his own. The light caught the water in tiny floodlights as he confidently glided around his "stage". 11:15 a.m.
A light smattering of ice rested on top of the water in pretty patterns at the edge of the pond. 11:17 a.m.
This was a beautiful place. I stood back and took the scene in as a whole. 11:19 a.m.
Leaving the pond, we went in search of a waterfall we thought might be frozen. Along the way, we found this blue-eyed buck. He didn't seem to mind that we came very close to take his picture.

Stopping for lunch, my eye caught the nice curves and contrasts of the stairway at the restaurant. 12:18 p.m.
I also liked the designs on some of the decorative tile. 1:01 p.m.
A small corridor of pampas grass against a blue sky makes winter come alive. 1:55 p.m.
At the Silos Corporate Park we found a couple of beautiful old silos dating back to pre-statehood days. Sandwiched between the pampas grass and the blue sky, they made a fitting closure to a wonderful winter day of fun. 2:00 p.m.
Welcome to my 12 of 12 world, Gracious Viewer! Hope you enjoyed my day as much as I did. See you next month!
