OK. So l haven't been too good at this: Life keeps interfering with my hobby. But I'm back, and hopefully can be more faithful. And.....I will try to post last month's 12 from Costa Rica while I'm here.
This month my shooting buddy and I decided to take on the Arkansas River (or a portion of it at least) as our project this month. Come along and take a look as we check out the trail that runs along the river, and a bridge or two along the way. There was so much to photograph, and only 12 pictures could be chosen......

We started out with a cup of coffee at Starbucks, then crossed the street to the Bear Fountain. This is one of my favorite in Tulsa. I hoped to get it with a blue sky in the background, but the clouds made the sky a giant softbox instead.
10:20 am

Loved the beautiful old tree that provided a charming little nook to nestle into. But there are more things to see and capture, so we'll watch the world go by another day. 10:32 am

Next stop was the 11th street bridge - which is also the old Route 66. The bridge has been renovated and is now only for walking. 11:02 am

Interesting part of the Tulsa skyline - The University Club Tower - also known affectionately as The Hypodermic Needle. Gotta love that 1960's architecture.....11:20 am

Cute little toad sculpture near a nice playground. 11:22 am

A nice spot to walk down to the river near the 21st street bridge. 11:26 am

Underneath the 21st street bridge. 11:42 am

Time for a lunch break. The Blue Rose Cafe just moved here, so we decided to check it out. It was a good choice. 12:04 pm

Next stop: The 31st street bridge. ( Do you notice a pattern here? ) This was once an old railroad bridge, but now there is a nice walking bridge beneath it. And speaking of patterns, the trestles and crossbeams make a nice one, don't you think? 1:05 pm

View of the Tulsa Skyline from the 31st street bridge. 1:07 pm

And on the other side, there was a man fishing. He had been throwing nets - which I really wanted a picture of, but he was also using a couple of poles - and did I mention babysitting? 1:13 pm

A peek at the Electric Company from between the crossbars of the bridge. 1:15 pm
And that, Gracious Reader, was how I spent my 12 of 12 day. Thanks for coming along with me!

ReplyDeleteGreat 12. Tulsa has some wonderful bridges, and you captured them nicely. I like them all, but I love the pedestrian bridge shot and the babysitting fisherman. Where shall we go next month?
ReplyDeleteLove the bridges - such great lines and angles and repetition. Excellent pictures. I love your blog too, by the way. It is fun to follow your beautiful hobby and all of your photography adventures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day for bridges, you and Sunny really made them look fantastic. I really like the Toad sculpture, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your day!
